Photographs exploring the memory of fire as part of thinking about the idea that the classical elements have a sentience, an intelligence, an elemental memory. How they react and behave is determined by their experience and memory of the past. These images made digitally, rendered to black and white, and then colourised using an AI tool, so their final appearance is determined by an algorithmic ‘intelligence’.
